Music to our ears!!

The neonatologist rounding today, after hearing Gabriel's 24 hr report said, when our neo team rounds tomorrow we should talk about discharge planning!!
On my goodness!! This isn't without the persistence and hard work on Roger and I's part. Gabriel has to take all his mommy milk via mouth (preferably bottle so they can monitor his intake even though he nurses like a champ!) and Gabriel works so hard and gets tired but we are patient and persistent and it's paying off!! I hope to home by next week squeezing my other kiddos!!! What a long, eventful, full of blessings these past  2 months have been. I'm SO ready to be home! Thank you Lord for safety, answered prayers, those who have prayed and petitioned to You on our behalf from all over the world and a healthy mom and baby who both are recovering at Gods speed ;)

Ant hills to mountains

First I have to share the love and support from all over. Especially to Hope for Accreta Foundation, Gina. She sent me this. Such a beautiful surprise to see the signatures of survivors from all over the world. Very humbling. Probably the biggest and most humbling gifts I've received thus far are cards with words of encouragement. I've received birthday cards, etc but these cards are different...or maybe my perspective is changing.  This past week I don't look at my children the same. When I hold my youngest, I inhale his sweet, sticky and sometimes unidentifiable (depends what substance he's sporting) smell. I look at my two youngest and truly look into their deep blue eyes, trying to count the various shades of blue. I watch their movements. I stare in wonder how my 3 yr old knows almost all the words to Frozen, complete with hand gestures and facial expressions. How observant she is...what has she observed from me over the 3 short years of her beautiful life? W...

It's so good to be home!

The past 2.5 weeks home have been great! I'm tired and get sore easily but nothing like snuggling your children and cuddling up in your big, comfy bed.  Elias, our 19 month old, didn't remember me when I walked through the door. Actually he didn't warm up to me until a week and half later :( . Poor little guy. About 4 days ago he crawled up on my lap and snuggled with me. Something he used to do before I left. It filled my heart with joy. I've missed him.  Gabriel is doing great! Eating every 2-2.5 hrs ...not so great in the middle of the night but he's thriving! His discharge weight was 5lbs 8oz, 4 days later he was 6lbs 2oz! 10 days after that he weighed 7lbs 4oz and 19.25" (he was 18.5"). All from momma's Dairy Queen :) He's doing amazing. So proud of our little guy :) Elias loves giving his little brother kisses and hugs. At first Elias was a bit freaked by his brother's noises. He would observe him from a distances and just stare at him. T...
